This day hike is perfect for those who want to be away from crowds and take a day challenge while exploring the Sacred Valley/ Urubamba Valley in a different way, at the end of the day, you will finish your day adventure at your hotel in Urubamba or you can even continue your journey to Machu Picchu.

This hike does not require any experience in trekking, as long as you are determined to make this hike and have all the positive vibes then you will have an awesome day. If you have planned to hike to Machu Picchu by Classic Inca Trail, Salkantay Trek, or other alternative trails, then this day hike is perfect for the acclimatization before your long trek starts, which will make you ready to rock on your upcoming hike to Machu Picchu.
You set off from Chinchero colonial town, a town with remains of Incan temples, Incan terraces, and a church from the XVII century a perfect place to learn about the Incan agriculture, Incan religion, and the religion from the colonial time.
After making an exploration of this site, we follow the trail down the valley, following a section of Inca Trail, the trail treats you with lovely waterfalls and terrific vistas of the mountains of Urubamba range. Already in the valley, you will reach the Urquillos town, a very tranquil small town with a plaza in the middle surrounded by typical houses from the highlands roofed by terracotta tile. A place where you finish the hike, you will then transfer to your hotel–Urquillos Hike.
